Solid machined and fabricated, Hope no longer exists as a hollow dream, but is instead a current reality.  A gold shank is fit inside, making the work truly wearable.  The burden is meant to be felt.  It is not a reliquary for the intangible.  

The band sits on a stand of steel.  Connected by magnets, the ring must be wrenched away from the solid mass that grounds it.
